Ghana:

Democratic Republic of Congo:

  • 75% have no access to health care

  • 45% deaths are children <5 yrs old

 

Nigeria:

  • Less than 50% of the population have access to organized health care services
  • 800,000 children die per year due to preventable diseases; 2100/day

 

India:

  • 260 million people below poverty level
  • Healthcare unavailable to 60-70% of the population living in rural villages; preventable disease flourishes
  • 2.3 million children < 5  years old die annually due to lack of simple health care measures
